Edition Summary: Market Research & Insights Trends (July 10 – 16, 2026)

AI and Tech Innovations in Market Research

Zappi launches Amplify AI for faster ad testing on social video. Zappi released Amplify AI, a predictive ad-testing tool built for social video creative. Research Live says it is trained on customer survey data and uses machine learning plus synthetic respondents to predict likely consumer reactions, while Zappi’s own write-up positions it as a way to extend trusted consumer insight across higher-volume, smaller creative decisions.

Voxpopme moves research repositories into the MCP era. Voxpopme opened early access to a service that lets teams query their internal research repositories from AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude using Model Context Protocol connections, marking a notable step toward embedding insight retrieval inside everyday AI workflows.

StatSocial extends digital twins into AI focus groups. StatSocial added an AI-based focus group layer to its digital twins offer, using its proprietary behavioral graphs to field “real, weighted audiences” quickly rather than purely prompt-generated personas. CEO David Barker framed the differentiation as grounding synthetic respondents in observed behavior instead of generic simulation.

incling rounds out its AI stack with incAI Enquire. UK-based incling launched incAI Enquire, a conversational assistant embedded across its communities at no extra charge. Co-founder Juliet Pascall positioned it as a way to let clients query data rapidly, explore hypotheses, compare segments, and test emerging ideas inside a broader end-to-end AI toolkit that now includes moderation, summaries, transcription, translation, and multilingual analysis.

Rep Data adds a more decision-facing way to quantify the impact of data cleaning. Rep Data’s new ReDem capability compares answer distributions before and after cleaning so teams can see whether bad data materially changed results. In testing more than 12,700 survey questions, Rep Data found that one in 16 questions changed its leading response after cleaning, with some answer options moving by as much as 11.7 percentage points.

Conveo launches StoryLines to make qualitative tracking continuous. Belgium-based Conveo introduced StoryLines, an ongoing AI research program that runs AI-moderated video interviews weekly, biweekly, or monthly to surface early signals and shifting behaviors. Research Live reported one client using the system for 2,000 monthly interviews across seven markets, underscoring the industry push toward always-on qual.

B2B Market Research Developments

GetWhys pushes B2B buyer intelligence closer to execution. Boise-based GetWhys upgraded its platform so product marketing and go-to-market teams can pre-validate messaging, positioning, and content against a proprietary database of thousands of B2B buyer interviews before launch. New capabilities include MCP integration, Gong-connected call recorder integration, and Slack-based validation, reflecting how B2B research is being embedded directly into GTM workflows.

Vendelux lands $50 million to scale AI-powered B2B event intelligence. New York-based Vendelux raised a $50 million Series B to deepen its AI infrastructure, expand product development, and grow sales engineering. MRWeb says the company tracks more than 250,000 global B2B events, helping sales and marketing teams decide where buyers will be, who to meet, and how to measure event ROI more rigorously.

B2B sampling design itself comes under scrutiny. In Quirk’s, Ben Elliott and Vera Macedo argued that many B2B studies begin with researcher-defined lists that hard-code frame bias before recruitment even starts. Their core takeaway: AI’s best near-term role in B2B research may be not just scaling interviews faster, but reshaping how what gets measured is defined in the first place.

Partnerships, Mergers, and Acquisitions

FeltonBuford buys Zeldis Research to build a larger qual-quant hybrid firm. Cincinnati-based FeltonBuford Partners acquired Zeldis Research Associates, a move the firms say will triple FeltonBuford’s size and resources. The combination adds deeper quant and analytics strength to FeltonBuford’s qual-heavy offer, with formal consolidation planned for Q1 2027 and both sides already exploring hybrid and AI-focused research products.

SHARCC continues its UK roll-up with Touchstone Partners and Shoppercentric. Newly formed UK holding group SHARCC acquired a majority stake in Touchstone Partners and Shoppercentric, extending its footprint in retail and customer insight while allowing both firms to keep operating independently. Ant Randle, Jon Darby, and Jamie Rayner all emphasized continuity plus broader group capability rather than full absorption.

System1 rejects Brave Bison’s £43.1 million takeover approach. Advertising insight business System1 turned down a £43.1 million offer from Brave Bison, which already owns 28% of the company. Research Live reported that Brave Bison said a combined business would be reorganized around marketing effectiveness, marketing excellence, and marketing delivery if a deal were eventually agreed.

Industry Leadership & Organizational Changes

Leger creates a chief insights officer role and doubles down on AI transformation. Canadian firm Leger introduced a new leadership structure that elevates Sébastien Dallaire to Chief Insights Officer and names Sarah Mottet Chief Transformation Officer, with responsibility for technology transformation and AI integration. Dave Scholz and Sandie Sparkman also received expanded mandates.

Qualtrics reshuffles leadership around regional growth and product execution. Qualtrics named Simon Quinton Managing Director, EMEA, citing his regional leadership experience across Fivetran, SAP, Salesforce, and Tableau, while separately promoting Ken Hoang to Senior Vice-President of Product to lead product management and design and help build platforms that support Qualtrics’ AI agenda.

Kantar promotes Imma Bardés into a top people role with an AI adoption brief. Kantar elevated longtime executive Imma Bardés to Chief People Officer, EMEA & Corporate Functions. MRWeb noted that Bardés has signaled support for the adoption of AI and agents as a core priority, aligning people strategy more explicitly with the company’s AI-enabled operating model.

Pureprofile formalizes its qual integration with a new leadership team. Australia’s Pureprofile rebranded acquired agency CRNRSTONE as Pureprofile Qual, naming former CRNRSTONE GM Nathan Saville as Head of Qualitative and former iLink executive Muriel Geagea as Head of Operations – Qualitative. CEO Martin Filz positioned the move as the next phase of growth after the acquisition.

Expert Insights & Thought Leadership

Strat7’s latest synthetic respondent study sharpens the industry’s realism gap debate. Research Live reported that Strat7 found surveys using synthetic respondents were typically two to three percentage points away from human headline results, but the bigger weaknesses showed up in subgroup analysis, key driver work, segmentation, and tracking change over time. The takeaway is not that synthetic methods are useless, but that they still degrade fastest where strategic nuance matters most.

Jeffrey Mead argues synthetic validation needs to become forward-looking, not retrospective. In Quirk’s, Jeffrey Mead said the category’s credibility problem is that vendors often validate synthetic outputs after the fact. His proposed fix is more demanding and more transparent: make public predictions in advance and let independent observers grade whether those predictions actually hold up.

Shammi Thakur says India’s 10-minute commerce model is forcing researchers to rethink context. Quirk’s article on quick commerce in India argues that when consumer decisions happen inside ultra-compressed purchase windows, conventional attitudinal readouts can miss what really drives behavior. The implication for researchers is methodological: insight design has to become more situational, more behavior-aware, and more sensitive to purchase context.
