As soon as your referral passes Emporia's professional verification and completes their first paid study. Sign-ups alone don't accrue rewards, which keeps the program fair and the community high quality.

Yes. Rewards on each referral are capped at four times the payout of that referral's first completed study. In practice most referrals never approach the cap; it exists to keep the program sustainable. There are NOT limits on the number of people you can refer to Polis.

No. Your reward is funded entirely by Emporia, on top of what your referral earns. They're paid the full incentive for every study, same as any member.

Professionals you'd vouch for. This could be colleagues, former coworkers, industry peers, and friends you know are good at their job. Every referral goes through the same verification as any Polis member, so refer people whose expertise is real.

Credit goes to the first referrer — whoever's link the new member used first. Attribution is recorded automatically and never reassigned by hand.

No. Self-referrals and duplicate accounts are blocked automatically and violate the program terms. Attempting them can suspend your referral eligibility.

After you’re invited to create a Polis account, you’ll be able to access a dashboard that shows your current referral earnings. Your rewards accrue as your referrals complete studies. You receive your pay out through Tremendous, our payment partner that provides prepaid and gift card options.

If you’re a current Polis member, you’ll see your referral earnings alongside your regular Polis incentives — same wallet, same schedule, nothing new to set up.

If you post the link publicly, you must disclose the partnership. Learn more about disclosures.  You cannot run paid ads bidding on Emporia or Polis brand terms. When promoting Polis, the program must be portrayed accurately. Payment is only issued for fraud-passed completes.

We may adjust rates, caps, or eligibility for future referrals, and we'll always announce changes in advance. Rewards already accrued are never taken back, and referrals already in their 90-day window keep their original terms.
